Hello,

I installed OSX Jas 10.4.8 on my Dell Optiplex SX280.

Everything works great except for build-in Broadcom network card.

I followed directions from the site but I can't get it to work.

So, I was thinking of getting wireless USB adapter to get my connection running.

My question is...what wireless USB adapter will work with OSX?

Please let me know and I will go and get one.

Thanks all in advance,

Pinio

I have Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit controller. Vendor ID: 14e4, Device ID: 1677What I did is: Got the patched driver AppleBCM5701Ethernet.Added my card Vendor and Device ID to Info.plistReplaced driver, re-registeredI followed instruction from this side, but my card still does not work. It's greyed-out, so I guess that the OSX can see it as build it network adapter, but can't communicate with it.So, after few days of playing around, I kind of giving up and looking for wireless dongle now.But I am still open for suggestions, as I would like to have the build-in card working.Pinio
I used a Ralink and a Zydas based chips, both works fine.
Hi macgirl,Did you have to install the driver or modify anything, or your system recognized it automatically?Pinio

repair disk permissions and then go to System Preferences and click network and it should say "air port detected Configure?" click yes and network setup assistant will open and help you connect to your wireless

No, I just installed the Ralink or Zydas drivers.

But I'm using the RT2500Replug with the ralink usb dongle get it from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=33896

I'm using a zydas based chipset with the wlan drivers, but i have a problem storing the WEP password. Every time i reboot the osx i need to store the wep password again. I think its a problem with wlan profile permissions. Did you managed to arrange it?
