Hello,

I just got a Dell Latitude D800 from my dad. I want to experiment with OS X on it, since I already have it working on my desktop. Well, I'm not entirely sure what is in this laptop, so this is what I know, and if anyone has something similar please fix my list:

Intel Pentium M "Dothan" 1.70 GHz SSE2

Intel i855PM Motherboard Chipset

256 MB DDR PC 2100 RAM

30GB HDD

NVIDIA GeForce GO FX 5200

CDRW/DVDROM combo drive

Broadcom 570x Gigabit NIC

Intel 2200bg wireless

Anything else important? Will it work with Mac OS X Tiger?

OT: also, I noticed that when I go to the "properties" window in XP after I right click "My Computer" it says my processor (Pentium M 1.70 GHz) but below that it says 598 MHz. Does that mean my CPU is running at only 598 MHz and not the 1.70 it should be?

Someone please help, I cannot get any Nvidia driver to install for my graphics card. I've tried the one that comes with the 10.4.8 JaS image, I've tried macvidia, neither works. If I install the one off the DVD the laptop won't boot at all, it hangs at the blue screen before the getting started video. If I don't install that driver, it works, but the max resolution is 1024x768. I then tried to install macvidia, which then left me with a non-working install. It won't boot. What driver is out there for my graphics card, or am I stuck with 1024x768 and a really slow system? It is a Nvidia GeForce GO FX 5200.

Also, I've noticed my intel 2200bg internet is really slow, never saw that in XP or Ubuntu. I've installed the wireless driver thing that starts with IW, forgot the name. Any reasons why?
