pauledwards03
hello I have just reinstalled jas 10.4.8 amd, i did not select the nvidia packages when i installed. i then installed the universal geforce driver found on this forum. I reboot and have a black screen, as if it is trying to go out of the refresh rate zone or something. I have tried tubgirl 10.4.10 ad jas 10.4.8 with just about every driver i have found except for macvidia (their site has been down). The display remains blank. If it helps any, when I first installed my graphics driver under linux it did the same thing. I had to add Option "ModeValidation" "NoVertRefreshCheck" to the device section of my xorg.conf file. I have added device id (0x029910de) to nvdaresman.kext, geforce.kext, nvdanv40hal.kext also clevo d900k notebook with athlon 64 fx-60 cpu, 2gb ddr, geforce go 7900 gtx 256mb is there any way to get around this or at least be able to change resolution? thanks (by the way i am a total mac noob Z00D: family specific matching fails NVD: family specific matching fails NVDA::probe(NVD) Titan: Built by omni, November4, 2006 Titan: Testing for NVidia card... zanky
Question... Where can one find this magical xorg.conf file? For some reason it does not appear to reside in /etc/X11.... >tub Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65316-blank-laptop-display/#findComment-468667 Share on other sites
