Luzbel
Hello! I'm new 1.- I got working 10.4.1 OSX when this scene began, but I haven't kept my knowledge updated. Now I see there are a thousand and one methods to get 10.4.3 working, and wanted to know if the patched DVD method cosists of patching the image and using the burned DVD to install as you would do with any other modern OS. 2.- My other question is about size... I've got a 60G HD in my lappy, and wanted to know what is the minimun size needed to install 10.4.3 patched, since I'm a convinced Debian GNU/Linux user and just want OS X to play around a bit. Of course, we are talking about the 8F1111a (in case the space amount needed changes among patched versions). Thank you! PS: Yeah, I've read many guides here and in other sites, googled, etc. but the more I read the more confused I got about question #1. Yes, you have an DVD image as .dmg, you patch it first, burn it and then you boot from it to install. 2 The deadmoo image had 6GB (4GB used), this was the min. but working (after few mails and mp3's I had no more place). If you use OSX86 often take more space. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6472-two-simple-questions/#findComment-40202 Share on other sites
Luzbel
Thank you for answering, dude! Yeah, I know deadmoo's was 6G Do you happen to know if the 10.4.3 installation with JaS patches is still 5G more or less? Free space wouldn't be a problem if I knew OS X recognise and can handle LVM2 and XFS. Guess I'm gonna google a bit (don't remember seeing this on the wiki). Anyone knowing how much space an 8F1111a installation will take, answer please. Thank you very much! EDIT: According to my research, LVM2 code is working for OS X, but device-mapper needs to be ported. There is no XFS support thou. So I'm still waiting to know how much is the min size needed for installation. Regards!
