Agentx86 Posted September 24, 2007 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Hello all, I am pretty new here, but here goes: I have installed the "tubgirl" 10.4.10 on my computer, but I am having an intermittent sound issue. When multiple applications are open, sometimes the sound for the entire system (even the sound effect for changing volume) will go dead, and only come back when all applications are closed (sometimes even finder windows!). To make matters even more strange, it seemed to only begin to happen after I installed iLife '06. I have looked at the console logs and cannot find anything to suggest any driver issues or anything, and it works pretty flawlessly otherwise, it occasionally has some pops and hitching during full CPU usage, but I kind of expect that from integrated audio anyway. My specs are as follows: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2GB Ram MSI Neo4-F socket 939 motherboard with AC '97 sound 6600GT graphics card Booted from 160GB SATA HD Thanks for any help guys! MuppMan Posted September 24, 2007 Share Posted September 24, 2007 That happens to me when I have the sound output configured as 6ch under utilities/audiomidi. 2ch seems to work fine though.
