hi again,

i need to copy files from my usb thumbdrive onto root. i have created a temp directory as my mount point /temp.

the usb drive is formatted Mac Os Extended(journaled).

in /dev i see disk2 and disk2s1 and rdisk2 and rdisk2s1 come up when i plug in the stick.

i've tried using ' mount -t hfs /dev/disk2s1 /temp' 'mount -a /dev/disk2s1 /temp' and every other variation!!

whatever i do i can't mount it so i can copy my kernel files to root.

please help!!!

ok...let me ask another stupid question and apologise for being totally new at this.

i need to copy a file from the cdrom to my root directory. i have booted into single user mode -s.

i believe the cdrom is mounted in /Volumes/cdname??? is this correct? i can't access the cd...is this possible in single user mode?
