Try this modified step 6:6. Insert the OSX install disk and reboot your computer. Start Disk Utility, select the partition on which you want to install OS X and format this to HFS journaled. Exit Disk Utility and resume the installation. If your disk is still not recognized, try formatting using Disk Utility again. Read everything carefully and select the right packages! Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64062-problem-installing-osx86/#findComment-453305 Share on other sites
GLucas
I tried getting in there the first time but my driver shows like there are only 2 partitions and both are untitled. One is 120GB and the other us 8GB. I don't have those partitions at all actually. I have 3 partitions and some unpartitioned space. (tried having it partitioned but nothing). Btw, my HD is 500GB Western Digital, not 128GB. It's really weird. I installed OSX on a primary partition in the first 128GB of the drive, and then after some kext modifications under OSX was able to have the drive recognized fully [the whole 200GB]. This was an IDE drive, and after the kext modification it recognized my drive as a SATA drive, but this caused no problems. Equally, after the modification of a kext i was able to get my 250GB SATA HDD fully recognized. This wasn't even listed when installing OSX. The fact your drive at least shows up during the installer is already a good thing I'd recommend you to search the forum for your motherboard's chipset and see if there are any fixes available prior to going down the same route as me: installing OSX on a partition before the 128GB 'cut-off' and then hopefully modifiying kexts to enable the drive in its entirety.
