Middleman
Hi all, I'm having a bit of a problem with my Asus P5V900 system. I have a 160GB Eaglestor(?) SATA hd drive installed with a Pioneer IDE DVD writer, and upon installation of Jas 10.4.8 it sees the DVD drive and not the hd. Drive has been partitioned mostly with Fat32, primary set on WinXP and OSX. I suspect its something to do with the necessary new BIOS upgrade I need - but I tried upgrading it with much trouble. I found anything over version 0501 makes the system unstable, and my machine would freeze at POST point regardless if its Windows or not. Just wondering if anyone has had experience of this, or how I can get the Sata drive to be recognised under Disk Utility. Middleman
I've managed to update my BIOS to 1001 using the Asus EZflash utility (by pressing Alt + F2 at POST) and the system looks stable. But still not seeing the SATA HD (which is by Excelstor, not Eaglestor). I've set the system to SATA on, IDE mode. Could it be to do with the actual chipset? I think its a VIA Hyperion chipset. Anyone have this problem before? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63933-having-problems-with-asus-p5v900/#findComment-452514 Share on other sites
