Okay here is what I need to know;

  1. How to burn a bootalbe OS X CD for the PC.
  2. Once I have a bootalbe CD, what do I need other than that to get OS X to install.
  3. Audio, Video, Wireless, and any other Drivers that the nc6400 may need to complete the installation process

If someone can please help out and point me in the right direction that would be a huge help. I do not like Windows, and I have been using OS X since I bought my iBook about 2 years ago. I like the interface and everything else that OS X has to offer, but I am having one heck of time getting to port over to the HP Compaq nc6400 laptop that I have... If you know of any technics that I should and can try please let me know...

ok dude if you dont know how burn the CD, i dont think you should be trying this out

just do research and youll find most of what you need,

first off do you already have an osx86.iso?? if so which one?

I know how to burn CD's/DVD's that is simple, I just can't seem to make one the is bootalbe. I have the JaS Tiger 10.4.8.iso and also have a uphuck dvd image 10.4.9i image, both of which, according to some people that I have talked to, should be bootable for this machine. What else do I need to have?

And to let you know, I was asking if there was anything specail I needed to do to get the CD/DVD to be bootable. I am using Roxio Toast Titanium, and have basically wasted 3 dvd+r's on this project already.

Okay now I am in need of a link to a source where I can download the image that I need. I lost all the info in a disk failure... I was pissed about that. But if someone can send a link to get the proper image that would be a great help. I think I have it down at this point... I hope for :( sake. LOL... Well if you have any info that would be a help to me please feel free to let me know... I can use all the help that I can get... LOL :D

I own an NC6400 notebook, there are a few problems with mine and OSX86

First, mine has a 3945 wireless card which is not yet fully supported (and the guy who was developing it no longer has a system to work on the driver with)

Second, mine has an ATi mobility x1300 graphics card which is stuck at 1024x768 res instead of the more comfortable 1280x800 that it should be. I don't remember if my audio worked or not. The lan didn't work either.

The built in bluetooth worked perfectly out of the box though which was nice.

Okay Corey, do you remember how you managed to install OS X on that laptop, I have tried everything that I know. I knew that this was going to be a little on the hard side but not like this... I mean what exactly do I need to do. I have everything that I am suppose to and apparently I am suppose to be able to boot to the DVD that I burned and still nothing... Please let me know.
