Skyguy
Gigabyte 965P-DS3, C2D 6300, 8800GTS 640, Jas 10.4.8......finally got things working, including Ethernet......except screen resolution. Question 1: Have 22" LCD @ 1680x1050 and can't seem to get that rez recognized properly. I've gone into Terminal and done this: sudo pico /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist Entered password, then after the <key>Kernel Flags</key>, I added: <string>"Graphics Mode"="1680×1050×32"</string> Saved and rebooted. Resolution looks much better but it's stretched WIDE like it's not in widescreen.....looks like 4:3 aspect and not 16:10 like it's supposed to be. Perhaps something to do with my graphics card? I have NOT installed Titan.....I think it screwed things up and I ended up doing a complete reinstall from absolute scratch. Question 2: Am actually running dual 22" LCDs. How do I enable the 2nd monitor? Anyone know how to correct this? Much appreciated!! antic
sudo pico /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist Entered password, then after the <key>Kernel Flags</key>, I added: <string>"Graphics Mode"="1680×1050×32"</string> You might have more luck if you try inserting the the following. <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1680×1050×32</string> One problem is that your video card is not fully supported at the moment so you will only get vesa 3 graphic modes and i'm not 100% sure that 1680 x 1050 is one of them. Anyway it might work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63513-monitors-and-resolution/#findComment-449429 Share on other sites
Skyguy
Thanks, I'll give it a try! Maybe I'll swap the Hackintosh as my wife's system......she has a 1280x1024 and then use my system as the main PC rig............. Well, I can live with an incorrect resolution for now. Just gotta figure out a few graphic glitches (lack of refresh when scrolling or moving around-----anyone have a solution???) and the I have it working perfectly!!! *fingers crossed* Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63513-monitors-and-resolution/#findComment-449548 Share on other sites
inter981
I have a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW 22" Widescreen Monitor and a nVIDIA GeForce 7600GT Superclocked videocard (both connected by DVI). I installed OsX 10.4.10 and it works perfect @ 1680x1050x32 since first install, without changing anything (native resolution) with QE/CI enabled. A friend of mine, has almost same PC, same videocard and a 22" Widescreen LCD (but it's Packard Bell brand), and it can't get that resolution and has QE/CI disabled. What kind of videocard and monitor do you have ? that may be the problem... here's a screenshot of my desktop with "About this mac": Regards from Spain.
