Hello there!

I have a problem that i've tried to solve since i installed osx on my pc but i've run out on ideas for a solution, so i need your thoughts about this!

The problem is that all text in OSX is blurry, okay maybe blurry isn't the right word cause its not unclear, just that i can see the pixels and it looks all wrong.

For an example is the first vertical line in the letter H thicker than the second one and the first line in the letter W is far from a smooth line, more like four vertical lines put together to make one diagonal. (It's verry hard to describe the problem as you can see ;))

All images are looking great. It's just the font or the text there is something wrong about.

I don't think it is the osx text rendering thing (that i've seen there's been alot of discussions about) cause i've compared it to other (real) macs, altough they all had lower resolution, but it was far from how it looked on their computers.

In system profiler it says that core image and quartz extreme is supported. and both the graphic card and the display is detected.

I had uphucks 10.4.9i r2 installed but updated to koolkals 10.4.10 and i think i choose natit 2.0 when i updated the osx.

I have..

HP w2207 lcd display with 1680x1050 resolution (recommended for that display)

Asus GeForce 7300 GT 256mb PCIe

Asus P5W DH Deluxe

2.67 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

2GB SDRAM

So if you have any idea for a solution to this problem or if you're facing it to, please let me know :)

ps. I'm sorry about my english..

maybe you need to set the refresh rate. find the native refresh rate of the monitor (manual) and see if that is the refresh rate being used by the video signal -- sometimes a monitor's controls will indicate current input parameters.

I've checked it up and the refresh rate is set at 60 hertz (the 75 hertz selection was inactive). I'v checked on hp.com and the maximum refresh rate for the hp w2207 is 60 hertz.

maybe thats the problem but i think it is strange since it's a brand new display from hp and i just don't think they would make a 22 inch display with just 60 hertz if it would make the text look like this.

Hi there

I can now eliminate that there is something wrong with the display because i've tryed it as a secondary display to a mac book pro and it looked great. so my worst fear is gone :(

o now there has to be some problems with the graphic card or the natit/titan. I think i installed natit 2.0 but i'm not sure..

is it possible to install titan also or do i have to remove natit?

Good News!

after trying a bunch of different natit/titan versions i finnaly got it working and now it looks great.

the problem did exist with 10.4.9 too but i probably did installed it both on 10.4.9 and 10.4.10 as you mentioned. but now it's working so thanks for the help :(

hi

sorry for not getting back to you with what i did to fix the problem

truth is that i'm not usually on this site since everything workes for me now.

what i did was to install some natit package with a bunch of stuff that i have no idea of what it was, but it worked for me :P

i found it at:

i hope you can fix your problems cause it made a big difference for me when osx finally looked as good as it's supposed to.
