As the community on the uphuck forum appears to be quite silent I post here:

All,

I expirience the following problem:

Installing on a dedicated Hard-drive works excellent.

Tried different configurations, while one was with login window fix the other was the SMBus fix if I remember correctly (the one that should make the login window obselete).

Other selections was one time natit 0.2 +AGPGart the other two tries with titan+AGPGart. (Both detected the card and AGP 8x properly except QE/CI), the CPU Power Management and Thermal fixes selected. Enabled verbose mode as default.

Allright, in all scenarios the same issue.

After installation first time boot ends on a blue background screen. The mouse pointer does not load. No matter how long you wait. Rebooting the machine then brings me to the apple installation wizard. Following it. Wow! Working OS X with working VGA (Geforce 6800GT without QE/CI) and sound. (NIC is a separate issue but solveable for me)

Alright playing around with the OS etc. All good. First time reboot after installation: Ends again on the light blue screen. No mouse pointer, no background picture loaded. icon_eek.gif

Rebooted 5-6 times. Still the same issue. As said tried reinstalling over and over. I keep getting to the light blue screen after it worked ONCE.

My machine:

  • P4 Prescott 3GHz (HT on or off makes no difference)
  • 1GB RAM
  • Asus P4P800SE (Intel 865 chipset, ADI Sound, Marvell Yukon NIC)
  • Asus 6800GT VGA

Tried to repair permissions via boot cd (yes stuff to repair but no impact)

Tried to delete ktext cache (don't remember the right name now but I guess you know what I mean...)

Any ideas what might go wrong?

Thanks for your help!

installing with Hyperthreading disabled and no VGA drivers worked for me (using JaS which showed the same behaviour first)...

mmm

same behaviour form me but with different hw...

HERE

i'll try without any video driver, no HT on c2d... i hope can resolve. i can't explain myself why the OS worked only ONCE ... it's absurd!
