I have a Power Mac G4 box with a PC motherboard installed and an Intel Pentium 4 and a Darwin hard drive with Mac OS 10.4.10. I'm pretty sure that the optical drive it has in it is the original G4 one. the overall computer works great but the fan is always spinning at maximum speed and it overheats really fast. I think that's what causing the optical drive to not work. Is there a separate heat regulating part I need to replace?

Also the VGA port that's integrated into the PC motherboard doesn't work so I have had to install a separate PCI card for DVI displays and have had to use DVI displays with it or use my DVI-VGA adapter. Could this be because it's running Mac OS X on a PC motherboard?????
