I have a MacOS X dvd with a JaS Patch version 10.4.7. I tried to install this on a Packard Bell EasyNote EZ35-V-080. This laptop has a Intel Celeron M420 Processor(SSE, SSE2 and SSE3 instructions). Further specifications can be found here: http://support.packardbell.com/nl/item/ind...p;pn=PB77Q07586 . It's in Dutch, because it's a model only available in the Netherlands.

My laptop restarts after the gray screen. I tried verbose to get some more information, but the only thing that was showed was:

Loading Darwin/x86
Loading kernel mach_kernel
Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230a50
Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230a50
LoadDrivers: Loading from [System/Library/Extensions.mkext]
Loading HFS+ file: [System/Library/Extensions.mkext] from 4230a50
Loading HFS+ file: [System/Library/Extensions.mkext] from 4230a50

I hope someone can help me.

Hum... maybe you have installed not needed packages ;)

(It was my prob =) )

I can't have done that, because I have that problem when I try to start the installation. I know that the disc works, because I've used it to install MacOs X on my PC. This PC only has sdram memory instead of ddr2, only sse and sse2 instead of sse, sse2 and sse3 and a ide harddrive instead of sata.

I was thinking that it might be my sata controller, because it stops loading at Loading HFS+ file: But I really wouldn't know how to solve that. I think I'm first going to try to get a copy of 10.4.10 maybe that solves my problem.

I think I found out what the problem is. It's indeed my SATA controller, because I've read on the internet that an ATi Xpress 200 chipset doesn't work out of the box, but with this in mind I can search more effectively on this forum. So I'm not yet giving up.

I tried to install Tiger 10.4.9 Uphuck v1.4i, this version allowed me to install Mac Os, but after the installation I got a screen with Please reboot your system...(something like that). When i tried to remove and replace the files needed to get a x200 chipset working it got worse. I only saw a flickering stripe then.

So I tried the VMware method and I got the same.

Is there anyone who can help me please????

I finally found the solution. I've installed the remove cpu power management(or something like that) patch and the VIA ATA driver. Mac OS X now works natively. Sound works with the azalia driver. Video(also radeon xpress 200m) with Callisto build 3(no widescreen yet). I'm now working on my wireless network, but I'll start a new topic for that.
