May you guys help me ive been trying to put mac os x86 on my HP Pavilion a1510n for a week :( . when i try to put mac os on a partition i made for it. Disk utility wont let me erase the partition and when i try to erase the partition it takes forever to erase and it doesent show a progress bar or any words or numbers above the progress bar  and when it does show it appears only for a split second  . and it stops and says The Underlying Task Reported Failure On Exit :( . can you help me. i used tubgirls 10.4.9 iso and burned it with nero burning rom. please help and thanks for listening. :D

Did you tryed to erase this partition using another utility?

Also tell us more about your config.

No i used the disk utility on the install disk or the built in one

My config is as follows  :

AMD Athlon ™ 64 3800+ Processor

Processor Speed: 2.4GHz

2000MHz System Bus

NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Chipset

1024MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM memory

200GB 7200RPM Serial ATA hard drive

Double Layer 16X DVD±R/RW

Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Graphics with TurboCache supporting up to 256MB shared video memory

10/100BaseT network interface

High Definition Audio, 8 speaker configurable

So the first thing you have to do is to format your partition with another utility :)

I'm getting the same type of error right now with the Tubgirl. I've tried that, and I also tried using fsck to find errors. It found some and fixed them, but I'm still not having any luck. Now I am also getting "input/output error" and "insufficient privledges" for partitioning in DiskUtility. I have no idea how to actually get around this...

I have an HP Pavilion dv9410ca. (Specs: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/ca/en/ho/WF...reg_R1002_CAEN)

It'd be great if anybody knows anything about this... I have been working on this for over a week also (kind of obsessively). It's really exhausting..

Edit: I'm assuming the Input/Output error has something to do with the hdik error that comes up on my screen with every DVD. If anyone's willing to help, here's a picture: http://i14.tinypic.com/4ozteyt.jpg

I tried doing something with my USB drive, and it can't do anything to it either.
