icyhandlz Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 Hey guys, i installed my new superdrive via the ifixit repair manual, get done and everything is working except the superdrive wont eject now. So i go back in and trying to make sure the ribbon is in all the way on the logic board. and i break that little brown thing that "holds" the ribbon on there. 1st question were can i get those pieces and what are they called. And 2nd does anyone have any advice or reasoning why the superdrive wouldnt eject??? i tried all the different kinds of ejecting, from holding the mouse down from startup the eject key, going into single user mode and it still would eject, it just said it can not open the volume. icyhandlz Posted August 23, 2007 Author Share Posted August 23, 2007 i have the superdrive ribbon, at the bottom of this page thats the thing im talking about, i busted the part that moves up to release the "contacts" and moves back down to "hold" or "tighten" to i assume, make sure the contacts are in place, now it was not broke the first time i when the drive would not eject, its when i went back in that i busted it. Thats the part im looking for and trying to figure out why the drive would not eject as well to fix both problems in one swoop while i have the device apart.
