Xedek
My triple boot system is working great (win xp, osx, vista) except for one issue that i am having. First let me describe my set up, i have 3 Hard Drives in my computer the main disk has my 3 operating systems on it, the 2nd disk has my windows applications on it and the 3rd disk which i was planning on using for transfering downloads from mac to pc and vise versa. All 3 hard drives are SATA drives. The problem is that Mac wont detect the 3rd drive.. it finds the 2nd drive no problem but it wont reconize my fat32 formatted drive ( i did try making it NTFS as well). Windows sees it fine, but not even disk utility will find it on the mac. Is there a patch or a work around to have my 3rd drive show up? if not what would you guys recomend? ::EDIT:: Im using Uphuck 10.4.9 if this helps at all Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59103-cant-find-hard-drive-in-osx/ Share on other sites
squeeks
is it possibly on a diffrent sata controler than the previous two? can you try switching its cables with one of the other drives to rule this out? Xedek
is it possibly on a diffrent sata controler than the previous two? can you try switching its cables with one of the other drives to rule this out? ill give it a shot..i dont know if its on a different controller...but i would guess no because my sata connections are built into my motherboard...8 of them... 3 being used for hard drives 1 for a dvd burner. Ill try making the DVD burner after the 3rd hard drive, cause i think as it is now i have the first 2 hard drives then the burner than the 3rd hard drive....ill let you know how it works. BJMoose
Something else you might want to check is if somehow the drive got a flag changed to make it a hidden drive. This can sometimes happen when reformatting partitions for OSX.
