pairustwo
I'm trying to avoid upgrading every component as I can afford to. Will I be able to use my PATA DVD drive with this board? The HCL makes no mention of PATA. (but that was a good suggestion) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58715-pata-on-d975xbx2-bad-axe/ Share on other sites

pairustwo
But the board only has support for ATA-100. http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/D975XBX2/index.htm And this says ATA-133 support for the D975XBX. It dosen't say PATA anything on the XBX2 which I assume is the revision 2 board. At least the XBX2 is all that is available. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph..._10.4.8#Intel_2 Can anyone confirm that they have one with working PATA? And to be more specific I'm wondering if DVD burning or DVD playback is working over PATA.
