TheRiddler
Hey guys, I'm planning on putting together an OSx86 system and I need to make sure it would be able to run the way I'd need it to before I do. So to begin with, the hypothetical specs: motherboard: ASUS P5LD2 (Intel 945P) processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Controe 2.13GHz video: HIS HighTech H180GTO256DVN Radeon x1800GTO 256MB (I'm hoping for QE/CI to work (this particular graphics card wasn't listed in the compatibility guide)) RAM: Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) hard drive: Seagate Barracuda ES ST3250620NS 250GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s It can pretty much be assumed the rest would work properly. For software, I'd like to be able to run Final Cut Studio 2, Adobe's CS2 and 3, and Blender. I know this question'll bring a lot of negative comments about reading through the compatability guide and probably some capitalization, but I've read through them and though they may have a pretty trustworthy determination of whether or not one component is compatible, it doesn't cover multiple components at all. Reliability is my primary concern; I don't want to drop money on something that would be unreliable or have to be constantly updated with difficult-to-find patches. Whoa, I just read through that and I sound like some kind of poorly acclimated cyborg. But it gets the point across, I think. Thanks.
