shanewhittington
I have searched through every thread, worked through every tutorial but still I cannot get QE and/or CI to work!!!! I have successfully used the callisto drivers to get upto my maximum resolution of 1440x900 but every time I attempt to use the koverg patch to update the 9700 kext I get an error message telling me that the kext is installed imporperly and that I should contact the manufacturer! I have noticed that other people have gotten QE and CI working usinf the koverg patch and so I am sure that I am missing something obvious/stupid. So I am asking for someone's help that can take me by the hand and walk me through the process of getting QE and CI going on my inspiron 9300 with ati mobility x300. Even better you could do it for me (if osx has some kind of remote assistance (I'm a but new to it so not sure!)) Any help would be appreciated as it turns out that osx86 isn't that great unless QE and CI are supported... none of the good applications work without it! Thanks for reading this and I hope to hear from some kind individual that knows how to sort this for me. Cheers, Jas install 10.8.8 resolution 1440x900 (reverted back to 1024x800 to try and get QE and CI working) QE/CI NOPE! Wireless Working on previous install Sound. Worked from 1st boot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58071-qe-and-ci-still-not-working-on-inspiron-9300-with-mobility-x300/ Share on other sites
jdsmith2816
I have a similar problem. I'm on an inspiron 9300 and I ahve everything working great (minus the wireless of course) except that I have no QE or CI. I follwed some instructions found on here to use that koverg patch, modify a couple ati kext files, then apply the katan patch... Great, I can run at 1440x900 now and switch resolutions inside the mac interface, but i still get no QE or CI Does anyone have a surefire way of getting the ATI Radeon Mobility X300 to work with QE or CI? I installed via the uphuck 10.4.9 v3 dvd for sse2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58071-qe-and-ci-still-not-working-on-inspiron-9300-with-mobility-x300/#findComment-415722 Share on other sites

I had the wireless working on my inspiron 9300 before I did a fresh install Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58071-qe-and-ci-still-not-working-on-inspiron-9300-with-mobility-x300/#findComment-416015 Share on other sites
jdsmith2816
I thought I could do, but when trying to join a network using the iwi2200 driver it just shuts my card off after hanging for a 20 seconds or so. I said screw it and ordered a TrueMobile 1450 miniPCI card. I'm just gonna stick it in there, it should work perfectly according to what I've read, runs off of the same driver set that's running the ethernet port.
