amdmatt
i have ntfs3g 1.417 with core 0.4.0 installed and i have my two ntfs partitions mounted correcty. they show that the file system is ntfs-3g and it says i can read and write i can read from these drives no problem and i can rename/create folders and rename files.. however i cant copy anything to the drives (through finder) if i go into terminal and login using sudo -s and use the cp -r command to copy a directory it works perfectly.. im new to os x so im not sure if i have to authenticate in the finder.. or how to.. or how i can make it always authenticated.. thanks! roxen
I think this has to do with your permissions. After sudo you have all rights. Get Info (from the Finder File menu) on the disk or folder (Cmd I) The last Item is Ownership & Permissions Under details you can change the settings Or from Terminal: You can check the permissions with the command 'ls -ls' You can change the permissions with: 'chmod 777 fileorfoldername' see: 'man chmod' for details on that, 777 means that everybody can read and write (and erase) to/from that folder but for testing see 'man chown' to change the owner of the file or folder. Maybe you need sudo to have permissions to change the permissions.
