dingdongbubble Posted July 24, 2007 Share Posted July 24, 2007 I get this error when I try to install Mac OS X86 Jas Intel AMD 10.4.8 BSD Root: disk1s3 major 14 minor 4 SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed Disk1s3: unsupported mode load of /sbin/launchd errno 5 and it goes on with similar stuff and basically it stops. This is before the Mac OSX Installer loads up. It happens when booting from the DVD with all the terminal stuff going on. I formatted the HDD to FAT32 with a drive letter and a name as well. It is in master. Even the DVD reader is in Master. I am not sure which is primary and secondary. I have installed another version of JAS Mac on my PC earlier but with some problems. I have a Pentium 4 Northwood 2.8Ghz with SSE2. I havea Realtek 8139 ethernat PCI card. I also have an AC97 sound card which I think might be integrated. A few days ago, I successfully booted the DVD but during the installation it gave me some error, it told me to restart. Do you know which OSx86 installation will properly? Previously, I had success with a Mac JAS 10.4.6 but there were some driver problems and the DVD had too many scratches when I tried to install a few days ago.
