Shigimatsu
Hey all of you, I'm new here, and I was just wondering if someone could help me. I'm running a Dell Inspirion E1705, and I installed Uphucks 10.4.9 version 1.3 DVD just fine, from Demoniod.com and got easyBCD and configured my dual-booting of Vista Ultimate and Mac OS X, but there is just one problem. I'm experiencing EXTREMELY slow speeds, my mouse moves slow, i type slow. I'm talking about 1 frame every 30 seconds slow. I'm runninng an Nvidia GeForce 7900GS graphics card, 2GB of RAM, and an Intel T2600 @ 2.61GHz (Dual-Core), so I don't see any reason for it to be going this slow. I also have an 91GB hard drive, vista has 60GB, Mac has 31GB. Also, during the installation, Microsoft Office 2004 wouldn't install right, but that's okay, I have office 2007 on my Vista partition. Any help? Thanks a lot! -Shigi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57810-very-slow-uphuck1049_v13/ Share on other sites
Shigimatsu
I also checked the utililties and system processes, and there was nothing taking up a lot of CPU. Also, about 50% of the time, I get a message that says: localuser:/root# and i don't know what to do. That only happened once, however. Someone please help! I checked all the forums and everything and I couldn't find anything that related to this problem. Thanks alot! -Shigi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57810-very-slow-uphuck1049_v13/#findComment-413168 Share on other sites
sej111
In my experience you need to make several installs. Always erase the OS X partition using the installer's disk utility before each round and use different kernals and/or combinations of drivers...and take notes of the results of each attempt. If your Vista is working properly and OS X isn't, I'd reinstall without a moments hesitation.
