Hello guys,

I'm trying to install Mac OS. To do so, I've burnt the following iso: Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso

The install worked fine. But, at the next boot...my apple freezes...So, I've reinstalled Grub. XP and Suse are ok. I've added Mac. It still freezes...After reading many posts, I really don't understand...

Here's my config:

hda1: XP

hda2: Mac Os (Mac OS extended (journaled)

hda3: Suse

Here's what CPU-Z tells me about my processor:

Name Intel Pentium 4

Codename Northwood

Specification Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.26GHz

Package Socket 478 mPGA (platform ID = 2h)

CPUID F.2.4

Extended CPUID F.2

Brand ID 9

Core Stepping B0

Technology 0.13 um

Core Speed 2254.0 MHz (17.0 x 132.6 MHz)

Rated Bus speed 530.4 MHz

Stock frequency 2266 MHz

Instructions sets MMX, SSE, SSE2

L1 Data cache 8 KBytes, 4-way set associative, 64-byte line size

Trace cache 12 Kuops, 8-way set associative

L2 cache 512 KBytes, 8-way set associative, 64-byte line size

FID/VID Control no

I don't understand why it doesn't work. Ok, no SS3 instructions, but it should work, I think...

My video card is nVidia (GeForce 3 TI 200)

By the way, I'm using Grub for my multiboot.

Any ideas please ?

Thanks,

JC

  • 1 month later...

I got the same problem with my dell 8200

from another guy on this forum i heard i should install 10.4.6 first

i did that and then updated to 10.4.7

and it worked

so i don't know why but for some reason that version of 10.4.8 just wont work on an inspirion 8200
