h4ck1n705h
I have finally gotten past the initial boot problems, but now I need help selecting options when I install. I have tried installing with what I think I need, but every time it gives me a "no operating system found" error. I wanted to know that if I have an SSE3 processor, do I also install the SSE2 update? Also, do I select both SSE2-1 and SSE2-2, or do I just select the latest one? Anyone that can help, input would be appreciated, thanx! BJMoose
I am assuming you are using one of the uphuck installers...v1.3 perhaps. You only want to install one kernel...SSE2 or SSE3. I've chosen the latest kernel, SSE3-2 for my system and it works fine. h4ck1n705h
Ok, thanx, and will installing patches that I might not need hurt? mourngrym1969
Ok, thanx, and will installing patches that I might not need hurt? The quick answer to that is 'sometimes'. Installing drivers or patches you do not need can do anything from nothing to causing an otherwise compatible device to not work all the way to causing a kernel panic on boot up. If you post your entire setup, I am sure that I or one of our esteemed experts can point you in the right direction. I have installed OSX 10.4.9 Uphuck on 6 PCs and 1 Laptop (AMD and Intel) with a variety of configurations and managed to end up with fully functioning systems. Good luck! h4ck1n705h
Thanks! Well I got it installed, but I can't seem to boot it. I set the partition as active before starting the installation but when it reboot, it said "No operating system found". naddy69
Did you use Apple's Disk Utility to partition your drive? If so, you need to select MBR partition type under the Options button at the bottom of the screen . I think GUID is the default, and absolutely will not work on anything but an Apple PC.
