marcrem
Hi, I installed Mac Os X86 succefully using ubuntu. I'm booting with adding some lines in boot.ini (located in my windows partition) and added the file chain0. I can only boot macosx96 in safe mode, if i run in normal mode, it says to restart my computer. When I enter in the safe mode, I don't have sound, and my wireless internet is not working... I think there is something I have to do to boot in normal mode, what is it? Thanks! BTW=> I installed mac os x on a partition and I have SSE2. I also installed the sse3 => sse2 patch. macgirl
Which Version of Mac OS do you have, and also with that method which image did you install? When you boot in save mode some extension wont load, so is normal to not have some functions as sound, that is precisally the job of safe boot, not load some possible conflicting kexts. marcrem
I have 10.4.3 , I DDed the image using the tar command (my img file was in a BZ2 file so I made tar -jOxf tiger_x86_tar.bz2 tiger-x86/tiger-x86-flat.img | dd of=/dev/hda3 ibs=512 obs=1M skip=63) It worked and I ran mac few times BTW: very very weird: I don't see my mac partition anymore! HDA3 is like... dissapeared? so When I boot now, its says chain boot error... and when I go in Ubuntu tu check my partitions using the cfdisk command, I don't see my hda3 (af type) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5682-sound-network/#findComment-35886 Share on other sites
