I booted it up on the computer, created a 9GB HFS+ partition, checked options for Intel and "most hardware". I let it install overnight. Upon rebooting, it booted to the Apple logo on a white background with the whirly-doodle below it. After a bit of that, I got the "your computer needs to be restarted" kernel panic message. I reinstalled twice with the exact same results. Any advise on how to continue from here? If other details are required, just ask. Thanks in advance. ketchup Posted July 14, 2007 Author Share Posted July 14, 2007 I was planning on upgrading the RAM if I could get OSX working correctly; I know it likes it's RAM. I haven't upgraded yet because my primary OS (ubuntu) runs fantastic with 256MB on this computer. I'll borrow a stick of RAM from a different computer and see if that solves the problem. ketchup Posted July 14, 2007 Author Share Posted July 14, 2007 Call me a noob, but how do I do that? I'm using GRUB as a bootloader. Once I select to boot OSX, it just says "Loading Darwin/x86" without a prompt or anything before it goes to the apple logo. And if this is painfully obvious, I'm sorry. BTW: I threw a stick of 512 in there; now I have 768MB RAM. I'm going on vacation tomorrow morning, and won't be back until the 25th. I'll reinstall when I get back, and see if that fixes anything.
