wolfiie
Hi ppl, just taking the time to share my experience installing os x86 in a dimension 8400, i used Jas.10.4.8 DVD , it works on native install in a SATA drive and sees also my old IDE i use for storage, sound works out of the box, use black jack output, havent tested in jacks as i dont have a mic, ati x 300 works altho there is some tearing, stuck in 1024x 768 but works ok with my dell monitor standard 17 inch crt, only problem was network as my dell came with integrated broadcomm 57xx stuff, tried many patches and work around i saw in this forum and some other places, easiest solution was a cheap neatgear fa311 from office depot, got it on sale for $10.00 bucks, now i can see the other box we have on the network a win vista machine, most apps run including ilife 2006 and cs3 design premium suite after patching , it wont take serial and quit apps otherwise unless patched, firefox, camino and safari working great, toast 8.1, office 2004, and some other smaller programs all work. My D8400 box 80 GB Sata HD 40 GB IDE HD 1 GB DDR2 PENTIUM 4 3 GHZ HT ENABLED, (not sure if it makes a diference in OS X but its there HAHA STANDARD MOBO for D8400 Chipset 925x AC 97 Sound, worked out of the box, not sure if IN jacks work ATI x 300 from Dell Broadcomm 57xx NIC NEVER WORKED NETGEAR FA311 WORKED OUT OF THE BOX WITH JaS 10.4.8 DVD Install, cheapest solution i found INSTALL METHOD Native Install, uncheck all extra drivers and patches except for intel package HAPPY HACKINTOSH USER HERE!!!
