Evidence
Hey all, First of all, I just wanted to say thank you for all the work and discussions done on / around this forum. I am about to take the plunge to dual-booting OSX and XP. Anywho, I am having trouble finding what versions / chipsets of my hardware that I have. I have been searching around the forum for the past hour or so trying to find any recommended programs for determining what hardware versions I have. It makes finding the right kexts much harder due to the fact that I have no specific information about what is inside my laptop. Anywho, I know that I have: Product: ThinkPad T60p 8744-C9U Operating system: Windows XP Original description: T7200(2GHz), 2GB RAM, 100GB 7200rpm HD, 15.4in 1680x1050 LCD, 256MB ATI FireGL V5250, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 9c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro However, I need to find the device ID and other important info about chipsets. So, if someone could recommend a good hardware identification tool for me, that would be wonderful. Thanks again for all the help. - Josh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56274-finding-hardware-information/ Share on other sites
mourngrym1969
Windows Control Panel Then System Then Device Manager Then double click the component you want information on From the Properties Window that pops up: Choose the 'Details' tab From the 'Property' drop down choose "Hardware IDs" That will tell you Hardware Vendor ID, Product ID, memory and IO ranges. Write, print, screen capture those values for all your components. Good luck!
