nothingtoseehere
I just noticed that my Pioneer DVR-109 (same as superdrive) isn't seen as a burner by my OS X install. It worked fine wiht my old MB with Tubgirl. I am using JaS 10.4.8, upgraded to 10.4.9 with 8.9.1 kernel. My motherboard is an Intel 975XBX2. The Pioneer drive shows up under ATA in the system profiler as PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109: Model: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109 Revision: 1.58 Detachable Drive: No Protocol: ATAPI Unit Number: 1 Socket Type: Internal Low Power Polling: No but there is no mention of burning at all. Under Disc Burning it says no burning device was found. Any ideas? It started working again. Apparently VMware killed it for a while.
