macgirl
I know this is not for OSX86 but since there are a lot of people using wireless here. A friend just asked me if there is a usb dongle that works on PPC Macs, I used some in PCs but never heard about one for Mac. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5438-wireless-for-an-old-imac/ Share on other sites
manifold_family
I know this is not for OSX86 but since there are a lot of people using wireless here. A friend just asked me if there is a usb dongle that works on PPC Macs, I used some in PCs but never heard about one for Mac. Thanks Hi, I am assuming that they are using one of the OSX flavours as their operating system, such as Cheetah, Jaguar, Panther or Tiger. (I know that an imac with USB ports (366Mhz +) with 128mb Ram should at least install Panther as I did that last week for someone I know). There are drivers for the the Netger MA111 or D-link DWL 122 which use the Prism USB chipset (not to be confused with the D-Link DWL-122'G' which uses the Ralink RT2500 chipset). I think the DWL-122 driver is here: http://www.macupdate.com/download.php/1599...122_MAC_OSX.zip. The DWL-122G driver is in the same place as the one we can use for OSX86 on the Ralink website mentioned in the wiki under wireless. It seems to work for PPC and x86. Hope that help.
