Frozen on Erase Partition

Ok, so I got the install to work (sorta). Following a set of instructions I found from this site, I went to Disk Utility, then erased the partition I set for my Mac. Everything was EXACTLY according to instructions. The little progress bar started spinning, then everything froze, mouse stopped responding, disk stopped spinning. Any advice?

 

I'm using a generic Toshiba Tablet Tecra M7, only modification from the stock version is it has a gig of ram.

 

EDIT: I have come to the conclusion that this problem is a function of time. I left my computer to start the install by itself, thinking maybe it needed more time to load. However, it just froze on the 'Select a Language' screen instead.
