HELP! Installation wont boot.

Sorry for the title. Just wanted to catch your attention.

 

Hi,

 

I'm using Jas's 10.4.8. When I boot with it on my HP computer, I get

".Apple.PCATA..." kernel depencdcy failed

 

My cdrom drive light stops coming on and all I get is:

"waiting for root device"

 

I tried the media on my sister's dell and the install boots up fine.
