pomophobe
Hi there... I have a vague idea of what I need, but I am not 100% I am looking to build a mid-range (or base model Mac Pro) out of a PC for running Final Cut Studio, AfterEffects, Ableton Live, Soundtrack and so on. My budget is about $800 - $850 (CDN). Here's what I have so far on my list. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.40gHz. Motherboard: Asus P5K Socket 775 Intel P35 ICH9 Chipset Dual-Channel DDR2 1066/800/667Mhz eSATA/SATA 3.0Gb/s Firewire 12x USB 2.0 RAM: (2x) Asus P5K Socket 775 Intel P35 ICH9 Chipset Dual-Channel DDR2 1066/800/667Mhz eSATA/SATA 3.0Gb/s Firewire 12x USB 2.0 Video Card: BFG GeForce 7600 GS OC 512MB AGP Additional PCI: Bytecc BT-EC1394B IEEE 1394B Firewire 2 ports Express Card Alternate Motherboard: Asus P5B Plus Socket 775 Intel P965 ICH89R Chipset Dual-Channel DDR2 533/667/800Mhz 8-Channel HD Audio 6x SATA 3.0Gb/s IEEE1394 With these add ons... Bytecc PCI-Express SATA II 300 + PATA Raid Card, and Bytecc BT-EC1394B IEEE 1394B Firewire 2 ports Express Card Also... If I can afford it... Can I use a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 instead of the core 2 duo?
