hello,

i have been using 10.4.1 for some time now and am pretty pleased.... only my wireless and full screen resolution dont work (stuck at 1024x768) but hey... its okay...

when i installed 10.4.1 back then I deleted the necessary kext files and the system boosted remarkably and it was all ok.

yesterday while having a look at the kext directory i noticed many kext files which perhaps have nothing to do with my system.

are all kext files in the directory loaded as default ?

how could i determine which kext files are definitely necessary to run 10.4.1 and would it make a performance difference to delete them ?

another question is; I am considering to install (upgrade?) 10.4.3 soon.

is it worth doing it on a laptop with these specs ?

1.80 centrino intel

512mb ram

ati9600 mobility radeon

native screen (1280x800)

no idea about what mobo is.

thanks a bunch for all help.

Your ATI card is maybe working in 10.4.3 (OpenGL, QE), so test it. You can delete the geforce kext (you have an ATI), but it will not speedup your PC. If you delete a wrong kext your system will probably not boot anymore.
