Hi, new here.

I have a small issue. i have a dell wireless keyboard and mouse that doesn't work. i have a corded mouse, that works if is keep it active the whole time, ie shaking it over a mousepad. does anyone have this same issue? is there a trick to getting a wireless keyboard to work? i checked the HCL Part list and it appears that cordless keyboard and mouses work.

the odd part is: i was able to install and everything, cause i only need the mouse. and the keyboard works during the bootloader. then, when mac os starts, the wireless mouse doesn't work, and the keyboard can't be identified...?

any ideas?

I have the same problem. I've scoured the fourm looking for answer, finding stuff like "you cant use a ps/2 keyboard or a usb keyboard and ps/2 mouse." Something like that, but I have a regular USB wireless keyboard and mouse. This set up worked just fine on my previous shuttle computer. Now that I upgraded from an AMD to an Intel 3.6 prescott and to a 915G motherboard it seems I cant get passed the screan that tells me I have a problem with my keyboard because it asks me to click on the "ok" button when my mouse doesnt work either. I hope someone can just call me a "noob" and give me some easy answer to my problem.

P.S. Ive also tried a regular ps/2 keyboard and mouse setup, and each one individually and still nothing worked.

I'm using a Logitech wireless keyboard (USB) and a wired Logitech mouse (also USB), and have not had any difficulty. The Dell wireless keyboards and mice I've seen are oem'd from Logitech, so I think my experience is relevant. As far as I can tell, the wireless keyboard is effectively supported in the BIOS, since I can use the keyboard to go into setup and also choose boot options in OSX (F8 key). The OSX screen you are seeing is not so much about not recognizing the keyboard as about checking what keyboard layout you have (but still stops you cold if you can't click "ok"...you MAY be able to do that with the return key, though).

Recommend you try a wired USB mouse (or trackball)....as far as I know they ALL just work, with the exception of any extra buttons which will require a special driver. Doing that should let you finish the boot process, and then troubleshoot your wireless mouse. OSX has no trouble with multiple mice (and keyboards) so you should be able to get both the wireless mouse and wire USB mouse working simultaneously.

PS: What sort or USB transceiver does your setup use ? Mine has two USB plugs, one for the keyboard and one for the mouse(currently not used), although neither is labeled.

Sorry I just didnt want to open a new topic, but I dont have a dell wireless keyboard mouse setup, its a microsoft one. Also it is just one usb cable for the whole setup or usb and ps/2 keyboard but it also works with the usb alone.

Well, still same recommendation...your keyboard is apparently working and recognized ok, so just borrow a wired USB mouse or trackball so you can proceed beyond the OSX keyboard identification dialogue.
