dorm
Ok I've already browsed through all the guides available. Im looking for a guide that explains how to install mac osx on a separate HDD without using Live CDs but I can't find any. I want to install mac on a D:\ drive. I am currently using a C:\ drive. Heres what I did: I got the tiger-x86-flat.img extracted from the tar.bz2 archive. I downloaded DD for windows and placed it in the same directory of my image. (C:\) I opened up cmd and typed cd C:\ dd if=tiger-x86-flat.img of=\\?\Device\Harddisk1\Partition0 bs=512 skip=63 --progress I checked with WMI tools. My C and D both share the same physical number 0. So I figured if C: was 0, D: should be 1. I did not partition D: because im installing mac onto the whole drive. Therefore I set partition as 0. However dd returned an error- Error native opening file: 0 The operation completed successfully Can anyone help me please. Thanks in advance ps: If im doing everything wrong including the wrong files. please kindly show me how to do it the right way according to what i want.thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/49849-installation-problems/ Share on other sites
