All programs you can control using system preference don't work on an AMD64 processor. So programs like Symantec Anti virus won't run the configuration.

This is what I know from an older thread

How to get opening using rosetta work on AMD64

For example for the preview program:

Type /usr/libexec/oah/oah750 /Applications/Preview.app/Contents/MacOS/preview &

Anyone knows a fix / patch to get for example anti virus working?

Well it still doesn't run with the option box on AMD.

Also I don't use Antivirus anyway.

TOO bad it doesn't work. Preview works perfect with 10.4.3 now. I had to use the following on the 10.4.1 version:

/usr/libexec/oah/oah750 /Applications/Preview.app/Contents/MacOS/preview &

Any ideas/suggstions on how to make an icon on your desktop executing the above command? So how to make a shortcut (windows terminology ;-( to a command line like above?

Yeah, you can do an alias to a command shell.

I was able to make an alias of for example Safari on my desktop. But how are you able to change the startup parameters to the above comments? So from finder I'm able to make an alias but how to make an alias to a command line like above?

If I know this I'm almost up and running with my Mac OSX X86 ;-)

I have midnight commander even working now ;-)
