steinachim
Hallo everyone, I have problems installing Mac OS X on my computer using JaS 10.4.8 AMD-Intel with PPF1... Installation starts just fine until I come to the language selection: Either there's only the blue background with the mouse cursur spinning (for hours and hours) or I receive an error message with the logfiile saying "CDLangChooser (LCA.app) crashed due to BAD ACCESS" (that's the gist of it, not the exakt wording). I tried opening a terminal and starting the language chooser by hand => mouse cursor spinning and no way to do anything anymore... My hardware: - ASUS P5B-E motherboard, Intel Core2Duo E6600 - 2 SATA harddiscs on ICH8-controller (AHCI) - internal DVD-burner (IDE) on JMicron controller (not working) - USB DVD-burner to start installation from Right now, I have no idea what to do next... Ideas? Anyone?? Achim Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/48419-language-chooser-crashes/ Share on other sites
zbob
I have exactly the same problem on my IBM TP X31. LCA crashes with ECX_BAD_ACCESS in ImageIO.framework or hangs with spinning wheel - very frustrating. The X31 is a very different machine from yours, though. It's a P4 mobile 1.3GHz with ATI Radeon 7500. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/48419-language-chooser-crashes/#findComment-408583 Share on other sites
Guest Ramm
Have you tried reburning your images, or getting new ones? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/48419-language-chooser-crashes/#findComment-408892 Share on other sites
zbob
Yes - I tried Original JaS 10.8 and the PPF1 as well as Uphuck 1.3 (all on different DVDs and burned on two different burners). They all fail the same way. The same DVDs boot ok on other laptops. And: JaS 10.4.6 boots, installs and runs (JaS 10.4.7 upgrade is also ok).
