I don't get the 8 sec delay at boot, so I can't input anything. I need to test resolutions, I tried to hard code them in the boot file but it resulted in a unusable screen. I had to reinstall because I can't input any command at boot to fix it. :(

Also if you want to add automatically prompt modify com.apple.Boot.plist and add this:

<key>Quiet Boot</key>

<string>No</string>

Thanks for your help

I added my graphics mode to that file do I place this before or after?

I think there is no special order

It does not work, I tried it at different spots but thats ok. Hitting F8 is good enough, as long as I can get the command prompt, I'm happy. To tell you the truth, I like that it goes right to booting never liked the 8 second wait. Yes I know of the option to change it but never got around to it, I'm lazzy :D

Thanks for your help anyways :)

Maybe you need the timeout too,

here is a sample:

<dict>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>"Graphics Mode"="1024x768x32"</string>
<key>Boot Graphics</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Quiet Boot</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>5</string>
</dict>

You can press F8 before the computer boots and that will give you a prompt but what I have to do is press the F8 key repeatedly and steadily i.e. not fast

macgirl or anyone else

I tried the .plist fix but no luck only this works.

I couldn't boot the DVD so I installed 10.4.3 from 10.4.1 native to an external drive and then Ghosted it back

over 10.4.1 worked but doesn't pause unless I hit F8 just goes to windows

Can't change it in startup disk. A minor pain

Any ideas to fix this?

TIA

Spoke too soon I'm sorry

You have to be able to spell and I can't

It works if you enter it right

It was late most humble apology!

I are dumb
