Technobob
I don't get the 8 sec delay at boot, so I can't input anything. I need to test resolutions, I tried to hard code them in the boot file but it resulted in a unusable screen. I had to reinstall because I can't input any command at boot to fix it. miranda363
You can press F8 before the computer boots and that will give you a prompt but what I have to do is press the F8 key repeatedly and steadily i.e. not fast Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4835-1043-no-darwin-promt-at-boot/#findComment-30865 Share on other sites

macgirl
I think there is no special order Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4835-1043-no-darwin-promt-at-boot/#findComment-31076 Share on other sites
Technobob
I think there is no special order It does not work, I tried it at different spots but thats ok. Hitting F8 is good enough, as long as I can get the command prompt, I'm happy. To tell you the truth, I like that it goes right to booting never liked the 8 second wait. Yes I know of the option to change it but never got around to it, I'm lazzy Thanks for your help anyways Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4835-1043-no-darwin-promt-at-boot/#findComment-31086 Share on other sites

I couldn't boot the DVD so I installed 10.4.3 from 10.4.1 native to an external drive and then Ghosted it back over 10.4.1 worked but doesn't pause unless I hit F8 just goes to windows Can't change it in startup disk. A minor pain Any ideas to fix this? TIA tefer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4835-1043-no-darwin-promt-at-boot/#findComment-32113 Share on other sites
