jobmo
First off I am osx on an acer 5102wlmi using JaS 10.4.8 and have been having alot of success thanks to every one here. So far i got my monitor, wireless, and everything running smoothly. There are only two problems left, No sound and terrible battery life. Now before everyone gets mad at me for a post about a ATI IXP SB450 which should work according to scousi on his post here, well atleast for the SB400 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=9847 Unfortunatley I had no luck. I also tried to follow this guide: http://marc88.blogspot.com/2007/03/osx86-i...x200-users.html Less following it, more just using the files at the end. Unfortunaley, although everyone seems to claim you can get an x200 chipset with the sb450 to play some sound, i just can't get it to work. I am wondering if anyone has some suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong, or as to any pointers to get me heading in the right direction. Jill
The major difference between SB400 and SB450 are SB400 only support AC97 audio while SB450 support both, but I assme most motherboards design with SB450 will use HD audio (Azalia). Resident Omega
The chipset is based on realtek audio drivers...download those...that should fix your problem Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/48067-ati-ixp-sb450-should-work/#findComment-717779 Share on other sites
