atari1980
I've solved this issue by turning off 'top performance' in the BIOS setup. It now works, stereo only, the other outputs wont work even when setting output to 5.1. ------------------ after 2 days i've finally managed to make OS X (almost) fully working on my PC, thanks to all those great HOW TO guides! One of the last things i need to fix is a problem i'm having that doesn't seem to be documented anywhere on the net (i've searched all day). The sound is intermitent but of great quality, sometimes it works for a good 10-15 seconds, and then it stops and i can hear some very low static-like noise coming out from the speakers. i've downloaded AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext in the third party drivers sections of the OSX86 homepage and followed all the instructions on how to install it (and it did install successfully according to the terminal) but i see no changes. i am running on version 10.4.8 of the OS. here's my PC setup if it helps: Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G rev 4.x (intel 865PE ICH5) running an Intel Prescott 3.0 Ghz rev E0 (i think, it was the last s478 revision) integrated Realtek RTL8110 (working) integrated Realtek ALC850 thank you, any help greatly appreciated atari1980 EDIT: now using version 10.4.9 (but still the same problem) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47906-solved-installing-realtek-alc850-audio-drivers/ Share on other sites
