First off, I tried five reinstalls of OSX 10.4.5 on a clean HD, HPET was on the BIOS, no longer there, have no idea where it went or how in the world that could even be possible. But with computers, anything is I suppose.

Anyway, in a nutshell, tonight I installed just the GMA950, thats it, installed the postflight package into eGWANS package, (his new script from a few months back( did the usaul FORCE QUIT evert time, made sure there was no AppleIntel915, there wasn't, in preferences, did the ./restorevga, and the only way I can get on or up and running is by typing legacy.

I would like to use my Nvidia 7600GS with QE/Core, but thats for another day.

Anyway, before the -legacy to finally get up/in, I always got the blue hanging screen until eventiually it said, with the APPLE LOGO, YOU HAVE TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

I can not figure out how to boot up without typing -legacy, also had to use my kext IOnetworking family from 1046 to get the onboard to work. I also noticed in the LIBRARY before quiting AFTER updating to 1048, there is a folder, INSTALL ON BOOT. Is that from intel or egwan... dissapeared after install. REALLY appreciate how to boot without typing legacy......and will try the whole process one more time before trying it on the MAIN OSX hack n tosh.

Any help appreciated.

PS. For those that want to know, sometimes the network sees the onboard, sometimes it doesn't and all the kernel panic shows at the bottom is Darwin Version 8.8.1

The system just hangs, and its pretty close to macbook specs, being all INTEL parts...

Thanks.

Lets see, Ive done everything on the EASY UPDATE method thread, tried several kexts, sometimes chosing none and just the GMA driver, I can't log on, rather get on without typing -legacy and have down 5 installs.

Tied ./restorebga, check, roger that, tried the Egwan script added to the package, check, did a preferences cleaning, yup, made sure no 915 kexts, a-huh, yes indeed.

What, know one is updating anymore?

Gessh, what the @#$@#$ did I do to {censored} people off? The lack of help here the past few months has been terrible. Should I start a new screen name and come in and pretend to be all green?

A little help is all I ask, just glad I didn't do as suggested in the main EASY UPDATE forum on the main OSX drives, otherwised they would have been hosed.
