lemming77
Hi guys, could somebody please explain the following: "Without 0x, does not pass Darwin boot loader." Somebody wrote that on a HCL about a motherboard with a similar chipset to mine. Anybody know what it means? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47645-without-0x-does-not-pass-darwin-boot-loader/ Share on other sites
Synaesthesia
To save us the trouble of having to search the wiki for that phrase, please tell us what chipset your motherboard has. Then we can tell you whether or not you have a chance for it to work. Peace! lemming77
Hi, The wiki was talking about the asus P5N32E-SLI mobo with nvidia 680 chipset Mine is the asus P5N-E SLI with nvidia 650 chipset. Darwin boot loader hangs on native install and vmware gets 16% through loading "Essential Applications", then says there was a problem and to try again I have tried the -x -v options, have edited the vmware config as per the guide. I am using an ide hard drive, and have tried ide and sata dvd drive - the sata seems to get further... Any help would be greatly appreciated btw - this is the wiki entry: P5N32E-SLI - ASUSTested with a GEForce 8800 display card. Boots and installs natively if -x (safe boot) is specified. Without 0x, does not pass Darwin boot loader. Graphics does not work with Macvidia drivers for GEForce 8800.Graphics problem: This could've been due to the GEForce 8800 - nForce4 Also, I'm using intel e4300 dual core 2, 2 x 1 gig DDR2 800 ram, ati x1950pro video ************************ EDIT - Me thinks the wiki is meant to read "Without -x, does not pass Darwin boot loader" - just a simple spelling mistake I am trying to use JaS 10.4.7 and JaS 10.4.8 DVDs with varying success Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47645-without-0x-does-not-pass-darwin-boot-loader/#findComment-341479 Share on other sites
IceFyre
I think it's a typo as the - and the 0 are next to each other. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47645-without-0x-does-not-pass-darwin-boot-loader/#findComment-341578 Share on other sites
