I installed xp onto my new macbook pro and i tried installing the mac drivers but it says that my xp is too old and needs an update. THe problem is I need to install the drivers so i can get an internet connection. I was wondering if there is a way around this. If not, then you need to update your Windows XP to include Service Pack 2. muzza_ve Posted April 7, 2007 Author Share Posted April 7, 2007 I downloaded service pack 2 in mac os x, put it on a cd and tried to install it in XP. When i do it says there is not enough space to complete installation. I dont know what the problem is because I have 16Gig free partioned to the XP hard drive. It says specifically that you shouldn't install an early copy of Windows XP expecting to install SP2 later. To solve this issue, you need to repartition your hard drive (using Boot Camp) back to a single partition and then re-do the process with a copy of Windows XP that has Service Pack 2 built-in. If you want to make your own copy of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 built-in, I suggest using nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/). I've never used it to put SP2 on the disc; however, people say you can use it to put what installs you want and don't want on a Windows XP install disc. It basically makes a disc image and then you burn it using an ISO Burning Software (such as Disk Utility or, if you use Windows, DVD Decrypter).
