I have a Windows 2000 file server that I'm trying to connect to with my OSx86. I can ping the machine, but any attempt to connect via Go --> Connect to server via smb://192.168.1.4 gets no response. I was hoping for at least a login prompt, but I'm getting absolutely nothing. This is what I've confirmed:

1. I can ping the server via 192.168.1.4.

2. I can go to a terminal window, and use smbclient commands (and adding the correct username%password entry) to view all the shares on my Windows 2000 server.

So I know the connectivity is there. I even tried creating a new user where the short name, long name and password all match the account that is logged into the Windows 2000 server. Still no luck. Anything that you can think of?

I'm pretty good with computers, so feel free to throw anything at me even if it's difficult.

Thanks!
