Henben248 Posted April 1, 2007 Share Posted April 1, 2007 I'm using the Dell pre-n wireless card in my e1705 laptop. The problem I'm having is that the wireless card works when I run os x for the first time (I was able to select wifi networks during the network setup step). After the setup process, I still kept access to the internet (I was actually able to surf the web on safari). However, this entire time, system profiler has been telling be that the "airport card" is detected but not turned on and the desktop icon tells me that it's "not configured"... Anyway, after about 15 minutes, I lose the wifi connection, but I am not able to get it connected again... because the os still does not detect the wireless card AND the actual green light on my laptop is off, telling me that the wireless card is turned off... Even rebooting does not allow me to turn it back on... HELP!! Why does my card work on first boot and then stop working?????????? Henben248 Posted April 3, 2007 Author Share Posted April 3, 2007 to simplify, my dell draft n card works during the setup steps and a little while after that until I reboot. from then on, the light doesn't even come on when I'm in os x. so is my card compatible or incompatible???? help????? consolation Posted April 3, 2007 Share Posted April 3, 2007 I hit a similiar problem with one desktop and a wireless card, using the kext from 10.4.5 solved the issue - just make sure you add your device/manf id to it.
