mindaugas
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to extend the system partition into remaining free space on the disk? ie I have a 6GB part on a 20GB drive, normally on Windows I could use any number of partitioning software apps out there to resize the partition. Is there an app out there for OS 10.4? Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4698-extend-partition/ Share on other sites
habitual
i tried several methods and the only way that i could get it to work was to install darwin on my 2nd hard drive then use carbon copy cloner to copy osx onto that drive. Started out with a 6 gig image, and now have it running on a 100gig hard drive and using all of the space on it. This should also work for partitions. Just create a large partition and install darwin, the clone osx to it. I do not know of a way to make the 6gig partition that you already have bigger. witzer
did the same as habitual only i used disk utility in mac instead of carbon copy cloner. works the same. i'm now running mac 10.4.1 at 20gb and additional 10gb for transferring files between mac and win. mac can read FAT32 and NTFS but win can't read hfs+. <sigh> rite, follow this link http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...pic=2892&hl=#15 hope it helped.
