Today i found a new app on iusethis.com it is called ForkLift.

After an hour of playing with ForkLift I'm deeply impressed!

First of all its blazingly fast and has very clean interface which i prefer on mac.

It has all the features i would expect for a filemanager or ftp/sftp client.

It has a same interface as the famous ftp client Transmit but it defeats it in many aspect. First of all speed (especially when copying lot of small files), also ForkLift took remote preview the next level. You will see the thumbnails of your images on the remote server not only in the info view but in the list too, and this feature works in archives too. If u have an archive on the ftp server u can open it like a folder by double clicking , u dont have to download it and than open it, if u have an archive inside an other archive the same applies. I have never seen this feature before in any other file managers. You can copy files between two ftps server, but not by fxp (it would be nice though and ususally much faster).

You can choose commander (You shouldn't it's a mac application!!!! ) like keyboard layout.

So, I'm happy that there is a new kid on the block.

It's in beta phase now: BinaryNights.com check it out here
